| Delmarva Nature Adventures: July-October By Dave Wilson July 20, 2003
On July 25-27, the "Cycling and Seagrass" trip will bring casual cyclists through the back roads of Worcester County, down to the quaint landings of Chincoteague Bay. Guides will be a blessing in this remote bay ecosystem and will help seine for seahorses, terrapins, pipefish, and other aquatic critters. In August, "Aquatic Adventures on Assateague" will feature a kayak trip on the back waters of Assateague Island, the 22nd-24th, for an intimate weekend in the salt and sand searching for shorebirds, aquatic animals and the world-famous Assateague ponies.
"Hunting for Hawks" is the final trip Oct. 24-26. Spectacular sunsets and mild temperatures add to the bird watching. Bald eagles and hundreds of unusual migrants are the rule for this grand finale of trips. |
